HR Director

Kanava Hotels & Resorts is looking to recruit a Human Resources Director to lead all company HR functions including, but not limited to; staffing and recruiting; compensation and benefits; disciplinary actions; performance and talent management; training and development; employee morale.

The position is based all year round in Athens but requires the ability to travel to Santorini and Paros islands (1 or 2 times per month) during months: April – October.

Kanava Hotels & Resorts was created on 1989, having nowadays more than 300 employees and owning and managing in Santorini and Paros islands the following properties:

  • Vedema Resort, member of the Luxury Collection brand of Marriott International Inc
  • Mystique Hotel, member of the Luxury Collection brand of Marriott International Inc
  • Istoria Hotel, member of the Design Hotels brand of Marriott International Inc
  • Parilio Hotel, member of the Design Hotels brand of Marriott International Inc
  • Acron Villas, member of Marriott Homes & Villas and
  • Hommage Villa Collection, member of Marriott Homes & Villas

 

HR Director Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with senior leadership to understand and support the organizations objectives and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, retention, training and performance management
  • Plans, leads, coordinates, and implements policies, procedures, training and surveys to support the organizations HR strategy and needs
  • Monitors and ensures the organizations compliance with local labor laws and regulations
  • Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; Participates actively in recruiting and talent management procedures
  • Creates and maintains a positive working environment by addressing employee demands, complaints, or other issues and strengthening the team mentality
  • Develops in coordination with the Area GMs the Hotel staff budgets
  • Supports management by providing advice in HR related matters
  • In charge for the room allocation and maintenance needs of the Staff houses in Santorini and Paros, in collaboration with the Area GMs
  • Maintains knowledge of the latest HR trends, best practices and labor law; Applies this knowledge to the benefit of the company

 

HR Director Desired Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or related field
  • Minimum 3 years Experience in a Similar position – preferably within Hospitality field
  • Knowledge of local Labor Law and regulations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills both in Greek and English language
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Excellent user of MS Office Suite
